Project Overview

The Craiova – Caransebeș Railway Rehabilitation Project (Lot 4) forms part of the modernization of the Orient/East-Med Corridor, one of the key railway corridors within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The project covers the section between Drobeta Turnu Severin and Băile Herculane (km 362+632 – km 404+250) and aims to upgrade the existing railway infrastructure to meet modern European standards in terms of safety, capacity, and operational efficiency.

Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality assurance of the project, preparation of logistics and implementation, assistance, reporting, and administration and coordination of the team of specialists
• Monitoring compliance with technical procedures for execution of works
• Preparing all necessary documents for the technical book of the construction
• Ensuring the quality of executed works
• Manage inspection and testing activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and ITP requirements
• Control non-conformities (NCRs), implement corrective actions, and ensure proper closure
• Oversee material approval, delivery, and acceptance, including supplier documentation and NCR management
• Performing any other tasks necessary to achieve the objectives of this contract, as instructed by the Project Manager in the execution of this project, in accordance with legal provisions in the field of construction

Education and Experience Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field and 10–15 years of relevant experience in quality management on large infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience in Design & Build large scale infrastructure projects (railway preferred)
• Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001) from an accredited body with demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance requirements, and proficiency in implementation and management of quality assurance programs

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control systems
• Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001 and Romanian standards
• Ability to develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Reports (ITRs)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Romanian language skills are preferable
