Project Overview

The Craiova – Caransebeș Railway Rehabilitation Project (Lot 4) forms part of the modernization of the Orient/East-Med Corridor, one of the key railway corridors within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The project covers the section between Drobeta Turnu Severin and Băile Herculane (km 362+632 – km 404+250) and aims to upgrade the existing railway infrastructure to meet modern European standards in terms of safety, capacity, and operational efficiency.

Major Responsibilities

• Preparing site plans required for studies and projects in the fields of construction, urban planning, and land use planning, as well as the delimitation of administrative-territorial units
• Performing the measurements necessary for the creation or updating of information systems specific to the field of activity
• Preparing topographic documentation for the demarcation and valuation of land owned by state-owned companies, in accordance with the law
• Performing the measurements and technical work necessary for preparing documentation regarding expropriation for public use
• Designing and constructing control networks for specialized works
• Surveying and marking the boundaries of properties and structures on the ground;
• Performing systematic registration work
• Preparing site plans and boundary demarcation plans;
• Preparing site plans required for pre-feasibility or feasibility studies of local interest;
• Preparing parcel plans;
• Preparing site plans required for the removal, return, or introduction of land into agricultural use;
• Performing the topographic work required for the transfer of possession to the owners as provided by land fund laws
• Execution and verification, as part of the internal quality control process
• Designing, executing, and completing geodetic reference networks
• Designing and performing photogrammetry work

Education and Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor’s degree in Geodesy, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in surveying on large infrastructure projects (railway preferred)
• 5 years of experience in a lead survey role
• Authorization certification at least Category D (B & C preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of topographic surveying, geodesy, cadastral systems, and control network design, including Romanian regulations (ANCPI/OCPI) and applicable standards
• Proficiency in Total Station, GNSS/GPS, leveling instruments, and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS), and survey data processing tools
• Solid understanding preparation of legally compliant documentation
• English communication skills
• Romanian language skills are preferable
