Project Overview

The Craiova – Caransebeș Railway Rehabilitation Project (Lot 4) forms part of the modernization of the Orient/East-Med Corridor, one of the key railway corridors within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The project covers the section between Drobeta Turnu Severin and Băile Herculane (km 362+632 – km 404+250) and aims to upgrade the existing railway infrastructure to meet modern European standards in terms of safety, capacity, and operational efficiency.

Major Responsibilities

• Implementation of the investment project in accordance with the contract
• Coordination of the entire contract, including design and execution activities, contract implementation throughout the contractual period, preparation, logistics, coordination of reporting activities, monitoring, and supervision of all personnel involved in contract execution
• Ensuring proper communication with the Beneficiary/Contracting Entity in all circumstances related to contract implementation
• Preparation of the inception report, progress reports, completion report, final report, statements of works, and any other reports/documents requested or transmitted to the Beneficiary
• Execution of any other tasks necessary to achieve the objectives of this contract, as instructed by the Beneficiary/Supervisor in project implementation, in accordance with legal provisions in the field of construction
• Assignment of any other tasks to design and execution personnel for proper contract implementation;
• Provision of technical assistance and technical solutions in case of unforeseen situations.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field and 15–25 years of relevant experience in railway projects
• Demonstrated management experience in design and execution of new construction of railways / modernization of railways / rehabilitation of railways
• Proven experience in roles such as Project Manager / Project Director / Project Coordinator / Supervisor with direct responsibility for contract management and delivery in FIDIC based contracts (preferably FIDIC Yellow)

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of railway works (earthworks, track, structures, systems), design & build processes, and applicable standards/specifications
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, particularly FIDIC Yellow Book (Design & Build)
• Capability to manage technical and operational challenges, resolve issues, and maintain project performance under constraints
• Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Romanian language skills are preferable
